Be still and know that I am God Log In Join the Lord Here Discover the transformative power of God's wisdom and grace in your life to live in righteousness. By discovering the proper use of your speech and how to listen for God's voice. It is through listening that we find out our mission to serve the Lord. This applies to all Christians, young and old, as they strive to overcome obstacles through the proper use of speech and hearing. Our mission is to show everyone how to have a personal relationship with God and the people He wants us to serve as our brothers and sisters in Christ, as stated in Matthew 25:40. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ How we speak to people and to ourselves is how we speak to Jesus Christ. "We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check." St. James 3:2. In Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God." Is how we learn to hear the Lord speak to us. What I Learned - Lucas There are many things I've learned in this problem. The most important thing to me is talking to God about my problems. Knowing that He will always be there to listen and to guide me down the path He has set for me. God works in many ways. Doc showed me that the voice I hear in my mind is God helping me overcome any issue. Doc showed me that it's okay to ask God for help. He taught us that the seven deadly sins are obstacles to success and that temptation can change a person. Doc taught me not to give up when things get tough. Majoring in Criminal Justice is a risky career. He gave me the courage to follow my dream. He also advised me on researching how God has worked in others in my field. Doc uses real-life examples of how God has connected with him, bringing me closer to God. Because I can relate to what Doc says. God has shown me that life is worth living and that we should be grateful for what we have. We only live once. I also learned to have God first in everything I do. Doc provides several examples of how easily our lives can be taken away from us. Therefore, the most essential things is to always have God to lean on. What I learned - Imani One of the major things that I learned in this class was to keep God in my life. I feel like not many people talk about how powerful the Word of God is and spreading His Word. This is why I think Doc spoke about God in every class. I thank him for doing so. Another thing that I learned was not to cheat yourself in everything that you do in life. I know that every teacher says things of that nature, but I don't think any other teacher went deep enough to tell us that it's literally not going to get you anywhere in life. I am not saying I am one to cheat, but just to have it as a reminder is a type of motivation for me. One last things that I learned in this class that will help me to be successful is that you should always be ahead of what someone is teaching you. I have always been one to try and just go along on what I am being taught, rather than going ahead. Since it was spoken about in class I have been using the method in all my classes. I believe it cannot only be used in school but in the work place and other area of life. Paying you bills ahead of time, Being a few minutes early for class and work. It fall into every part of life. I really enjoyed this class. What I learned - Maria I learned three things from this class: to stay ahead of the professor and lead with God at your side. Also, to be a good listener. Staying ahead in life will lead you to success because you will always know what may happen before it does. This was applied to this class to stay ahead of the professor. It made revising and learning new materials a breeze not just in this class but in other classes as well. Staying close to God and speaking to him is essential, because through God all is possible. Staying connected to God will give you clarity and strength in many aspects. In this class, I also put my listening skills to practice. Not much was asked by the professor, but showing up and listening made a huge impact in this class. This skill applies to real life because sometimes showing up for ourselves and listing carefully can teach us a lot. What I Learned - Kristopher This program taught me about my major by opening my horizons to research and explore all different types of businesses to make the best decision for my future. Another thing that I learned when writing my essay was to connect my major to God. When we do that, our future continues to build a stronger connection with God, who protects us. In addition, observing how you taught and spoke to our class was enlightening, especially when you disciplined the class by stating that we were failing ourselves. Our job is to study, work, and attend class on time. We all needed a professor like you in our first semester. To sum up, to be successful, you need to work hard, know your career path, be open to trying new things, and have a permanent relationship with God. It is evident that faith in God is a significant part of "Doc's" life since he made it clear from his lectures. I attended Catholic school from kindergarten to the 12th grade. Thank you for helping me keep faith in my life and sharing yours. I hope to be as connected with God as you are and remain faithful my whole life. In doing so, I know I will be successful. What I learned - Kaitlyn One thing I learned from this class is how to write an essay correctly. In high school, I did all right at writing an essay, but they were not the best. Doc broke down how each paragraph should be written. Also, how to properly insert sources that we needed to use. In addition, I learned not to write in the first person for academic essays; everyone in the class had a problem with that. The next thing I learned was how to have a conversation with God, to hear His voice actively. I grew up in a church. I learned to praise dance, which I love to do. Yet, my actions weren't God-pleasing. I would sometimes pray to Him when I needed something. Over the last couple of months, I started to actively speak to God about everything. When I am in my dorm room alone, I will tell him about everything. That's going on with me, to vent without asking for any favors. I feel my connection with God growing stronger. Lastly, I learned how to overcome obstacles to success. I want to be a part of the graduate percentage. I want to be successful. Being in this class helped to motivate me. Thanks Doc! What I learned - Wanda The three things I learned in Doc's class are that having faith in God is essential because you may ask for things, but what does God get in return? It is always better to share time with and for God. God is important for my daily life and the future. Another thing I learned to be successful is to work for the A, not a lesser grade. If you put in the work, you will get to your goal, the A. In life, you should always do a better job at the best you are what you give yourself to be. In this class, I learned a lot. If I'm being honest about God, myself, and being successful, it will happen. In order to be successful we all must start from somewhere. It could be by watching others and how they do the work or learning from a book, videos, etc. Not many teachers teach students on how to be successful. I really appreciate this class. I learned a great deal.
